SILVER JEWELLERY AND RINGS

The shiny surface and white gloss of silver make silver jewellery conspicuous to wear, but it can also be varied with gems. This metal is very easy to work with, so there are quite a lot of possibilities in individual design and production.

We usually make silver jewellery out of a 925/1000 fine alloy. Silver jewellery may become discoloured or blackened over time, because silver sulphide is formed on the surface. This could be an advantage since the jewellery looks aged. To avoid a change in colour, the jewellery may be rhodiumised or silverised at the surface.

Its popularity is due to its colour and its low price. Less expensive jewellery can be created out of silver, although sometimes a significant silver piece rivals gold jewellery’s prices.
